Who Am I? Branding and Voice Over

I was just talking to another voice talent today about branding. The question is who am I? And what is my brand? (of voice) But, as voice actors, do we focus on being ourselves or try to be Super VO? (everything to everybody) For some, doing that thing you do best brings huge results (i.e. Don LaFontaine), for others it can pay off to be many brands of voices for many kinds of projects. I still don’t know the answer.

Then I saw Bob Souer’s blog post (March 19th) “Potent Marketing.” He was referring to Tom Asacker’s blog post, “The Flash of Brand Insight.”

Turns out, branding may be more than just “me me me!”
