Voice Of Elmo Shows His Face On Oprah
June 6th, 2008 Posted in General InfoIt’s Friday afternoon, June 6, 2006. Oprah’s on. The voice behind Elmo is her guest, Kevin Clash. A handsome, young, tall 45 year old African American man. Kevin says most people expect Elmo to be a short, bald guy.
“This is the first time that Kevin Clash has been seen with Elmo.” Oprah tells her audience.
“How do you like your profession?” Oprah asks. “It’s a phenomenal profession, being a voice of a puppet.” Kevin says.
I was excited to hear all about Kevin’s voice over career. Instead, he told her it all started when he was a kid, building puppets and went on to talk about his puppet career. I guess this is a subset of the voice over profession. A very lucrative one at that.
