The Power of Social Media-Should we participate?

As voice talent, we need to be up on all the technology. From editing software, to sound equipment (listen to this week’s podcast at The Invisible Studios ) to the internet including the explosion of Social Media. Social Media has hit critical mass. Should we participate? Some say it’s a waste of time, others say it’s a valuable marketing and PR tool. I came across this YouTube video on Bob Souer’s blog:  Social Media Revolution.  Here are some of the stats from the video:

•Facebook added 100 million users in less than 9 mos

•If it was a country, Facebook would be the 4th largest

•1 in 8 couples married last year met via social media
