The New Way to Market your Voice
March 10th, 2008 Posted in Marketing, Q & AIn 2005, Bob Souer forged a new way to get his voice out there…in cyberspace. He started The Voiceover Boblog. It was a time when almost no one was blogging about the voice over industry. In my interview with Bob (Tuesday March 11th podcast) he talks about how he’s expanded his opportunities through blogging. (and helped others)

Here’s an excerpt:
TJP: Your blog is great. How has it helped your career? And other voice talent careers?
Bob S: A few weeks ago I received an email from a friend I knew when I lived in Pittsburg several years ago. Due to moves and life circumstances, we’d lost touch with one another. He said in his email, “You’re real easy to find on the internet.” Visibility on the internet would be the single best benefit. Then I received an email from a marketing consultant of some renown. He had some voiceover work he needed to have done and said I was the first person he thought of.
TJP: How has your blog helped other voice talent?
Bob S: My aim with my blog is to be of service both to people who do voiceovers and to those who are looking for voiceover talent. I do this through the things I write and the articles to which I link, and also through my blog roll. As soon as I find another voiceover blog, I immediately add it to my blogroll. No reciprocal links required. If people want to link back, wonderful; but it’s not a condition.
Check out my podcast interview with Bob Souer tomorrow! We’d love to hear your comments.
