Japanese Anime is alive and well and expanding voice over opportunity

May 12th, 2008 Posted in General Info

“Japanese Anime has become more popular because subtitles have been replaced by dubbing.” Says Animation Voice Director, Rene Veilleux in tomorrow’s (Tuesday May 13th) Voice Registry Podcast. Good news for voice talent. Rene talks about Japanese Anime and what voice actors have to learn in this very specialized area of voice over.

“The challenge is you have to work with existing animation,” Rene points out. Not only do voice actors have to be good actors, they have to deal with voice flaps, the timing with the beeps and a whole host of other skills specific to this part of the voice over industry.”
