Do Casting Directors Still Improve the Odds?
February 11th, 2008 Posted in Casting Director, General Info, Marketing, Q & AA few weeks ago I auditioned for a casting director; a rare occasion in this high tech world and even rarer….I got the job! So many of us audition via email across the miles for agents we’ve never met or have even spoken to for those elusive and coveted voice over gigs we almost never get. And once in awhile we get to audition in person. Makes me wonder, are the odds better simply because there are less people auditioning for a casting director? Or does the casting director know how to get your best performance? Or maybe it’s about that personal, face to face human contact. Is the casting director still holding the key to more of a sure thing? If they do, we need to know what they look for. Hear from Los Angeles Casting Director Terry Berland on my podcast Tuesday, February 12. -Tracy Pattin
