Calling All Voice Actors! We Need YOUR Questions ASAP!

September 14th, 2008 Posted in General Info

In the past couple of weeks we’ve asked you, the voice actor, for answers to questions like, “What was your first voice over job?” Now we need questions from YOU!

In an upcoming podcast, Animation actor, Bob Bergen (Voice of Porky Pig) Promo Producer/Director (Disney, NBC, The WB) Joyce Castellano and Los Angeles Teacher, Demo Producer/Film Producer Bill Holmes, will be doing a voice over roundtable with me. We want to know what you’d like to know from them.

Please submit them by Monday EVEĀ  Sept. 15th in the comments section here.

Thanks!

    Tracy-
If you could ask Joyce & Bill this question:
When you cast new talent to a job or when you see new talent coming in, do you treat them any differently then an older or most experienced talent? Why or why not? Also what is the most important advice you would give to a newbee or up and coming Voice Actor?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

Please share some techniques for creating characters to read relatively straight copy. For example, a recent audition was for a radio PSA promoting ways of saving water. The casting specs:
“Man’s voice, friendly, sounds smart, authoritative, but evocative, at the same time.” How would you quickly create that character? Thanks.

Great question Jeff! I will ask them. We’ll have the podcast up in a week, so you’ll be able to hear their answers.

    Thanks for participating!

Another great question, thanks Bill. There often is crossover with “straight copy” and animation.

    Thanks for the question.
