Alfred Molina’s secret to perfecting accents

April 7th, 2008 Posted in General Info

The first time I met Alfred Molina I was stunned. He said “hello” in this thick British accent. I was sure he was an American actor after seeing him as Moody in the film Not Without My Daughter. Soon I realized he does more than a great American accent. He has a Spanish accent as Diego Rivera in Frida, He’s a French Mayor in Chocolat and a Jewish milkman in Fiddler on the Roof. In my podcast interview tomorrow (Tuesday April 8th) Alfred Molina talks about his technique in perfecting accents and how his performing skills in film, television, stage, radio and audio books are all connected.
