4 Steps to Voice Over Success

They say that the best way to be successful in business is find the people who are at the top of their game, find out how they did it and apply it to your career. Not only is that one of the steps voice actor, Dominic Catrambone took to catapult his own career, I’m using his advice in this blog and in tomorrow’s new podcast. We’re going to hear how Dominic did it, going from a part time working voice actor to booking campaign after campaign from one simple piece of advice. What better way to help our voice over careers than finding out how a successful voice talent did it? Here are 4 of the steps Dominic shares in my Tuesday, February 26th podcast:

1. Find the most successful people and learn how they did it and apply it to your own career.

2. Search for your most authentic voice. (Probably the one you use every day out of the booth)

3. Once you find your authentic “signature voice” fluctuate around it and find variations on that voice.

4. Don’t push. In other words, don’t try so hard.

This is simple advice, but many of us forget it. Maybe we just need to retrace some of our own steps and then take some new ones.
